About the Work

First Thoughts
Buying original art, as opposed to reproductions, is a powerful way to connect with the essence of human creativity and support the artists who pour their heart and soul into their work. Original art pieces possess a unique aura and a sense of authenticity that cannot be replicated. Each brushstroke, texture, and imperfection tell a story and reflects the artist’s vision and emotional journey. Owning an original piece of art not only brings a distinctive aesthetic quality to your surroundings but also fosters a deeper appreciation for the artistic process and the artist’s perspective. Furthermore, purchasing original art supports the artists directly, enabling them to continue their creative endeavors and enriching our cultural landscape. It is a testament to the value of individual expression and the preservation of artistic heritage, making it a more meaningful and profound investment for both the collector and society as a whole.

Limited Edition Mixed Media Art
Most of my mixed media work is created using tiled photographs. Deconstruction and reconstruction is the inspiration behind this work. I do this by first creating the image in Photoshop using images that I photograph in my studio and on location (all models and landscapes are photographed by me. No AI.). After I’m done editing the image, I then take the finished piece and cut it out digitally (Deconstruction) then it’s divided into even squares and I print it out over many sheets. I then physically put the artwork back together to reform the entire image (Reconstruction). I feel this gives the finished image a more organic or handmade feel and leads the viewer to look more closely at my work.

I use acrylic paint, gold leaf, gel medium, and other elements to create texture and depth in my images. These elements combine to generate the setting for the image underneath. Repetitive layering and painting continue until I feel that a sense of harmony is present between these physical components and the evocative aspects of the subject that is being depicted. My goal with texture is to create a canvas that is full of life and to form the underlying structure.

All of my limited-edition mixed media art is mounted on a wood canvas that I make by hand. No framing is needed, your piece comes ready to hang. I also add acrylic paint to the edges of many of my works. I do this to ground and frame the image and create a unique look that adds interest to the image.

Limited Editions: Each limited-edition work is signed and numbered on the back of the canvas to prove its authenticity. Because I use acrylic paints and other media the images will sometimes vary somewhat from image to image. The cost of each of these works will also vary on the edition number (1 will be less expensive than the 10) and size.

Reproductions

In addition to my original limited-edition artwork, I also make reproductions available in the form of canvas prints and fine art prints. These reproductions are high-quality copies of my original work, allowing art enthusiasts and collectors to enjoy my creations at a more affordable price point.

The combination of all these techniques gives my artwork a truly unique style that persuades the viewer to stop in their tracks and think about what they are seeing.
