Q&A

Is there an entry fee?

The Pendleton Art Center offers free entry to visitors, making it accessible to all. For those driving, valet parking is available for a fee of $10.00, or visitors can opt to park in one of the nearby lots for more convenience.

Is there a dress code?

When visiting the Pendleton Art Center, you can get dressed up if you want but casual attire works just fine. It is also suggested to wear comfortable shoes as the center is multi-leveled, and while there is an elevator, it is easier to walk between floors using the stairs.

Why is it called Final Friday?

Because the Pendleton Art Center is open 12 days a year on the Final Friday of every month (except December when it changes for the holidays).

What kind of art and artists will I find at the Pendleton Art Center?

The Pendleton is a vibrant art community that encompasses a wide range of mediums and styles, from acrylic and oil painting to sculpture, mixed media, photography, and digital art. It brings together both up-and-coming and experienced artists.

How much does the Art cost?

That depends on the artist. I’ve seen some smaller pieces for $10.00 but for some of the larger works and more well-known artists, it could be in the 10s of thousands. If something doesn’t have a price label just ask the artist!

How long will it take to walk through the whole building and see all the artists?

I recommend arriving at the Pendleton Art Center around 5 pm when it opens, as there is a lot to take in and it’s best to take your time. Even though you could see everything in one night, it’s better to come back a few times to fully appreciate the art. Additionally, the artists at the Pendleton are constantly creating new work, so it’s worth returning frequently to see what your favorite artists have been working on.

Do I have to start on the 8th floor and work my way down?

An alternative way to tour the Pendleton Art Center is to start on the 1st floor and work your way up the stairs through the building. This will not only avoid the crowd but also give you a chance to burn some calories while viewing the artist’s work. Don’t forget to stop in on the 3rd floor to see what I’ve been working on!
